Long-Term Empowerment for Mothers in Athens
Mothers heal best in community.

Support, healing and community led by mothers.
Maternal Mental Health &
Emotional Support
Our maternal mental health programs provide safe spaces where mothers can speak openly and feel supported without judgement. We also collaborate with partner NGOs and mental health professionals to provide referrals for specialised support when needed.
Our support groups focus on:
- Emotional wellbeing during pregnancy and postpartum
- Reducing isolation and stress
- Strengthening mother-child bonding
- Coping strategies for anxiety and exhaustion
- Community healing through shared experiences
Safe Spaces
Open, judgement-free support for mothers facing emotional pressure, trauma, isolation, or uncertainty.

Support Groups for Pregnancy, Parenthood & Women’s Health
Our support groups create a trusted environment where mothers can share knowledge, ask questions, and build confidence in their parenting journey. Across more than 300 visits per month, these groups strengthen resilience, reduce vulnerability, and create belonging for mothers rebuilding their lives in Greece. Topics are:
Preparation for birth and early parenthood
Infant care and bonding with the baby through Yoga and Baby Massage

Social Inclusion &
Integration Support
Integration is essential for long-term empowerment and stability. AMAMÉ supports mothers in navigating the Greek system and building independence within their communities through casework and specialized care.
Our integration support includes:
- School registration for children
- Understanding the Greek healthcare and welfare system
- Administrative support and documentation
- Financial literacy guidance
- Employment orientation and CV support
- Referrals to legal and protection services
Mother-Led Community & Peer Support
A community built by mothers, for mothers
AMAMÉ is built on the observation that the strongest support often comes from other mothers who share similar experiences. Our peer-to-peer model allows mothers to:
- Support each other emotionally
- Share practical parenting knowledge
- Build friendships and trust networks
- Develop leadership skills
- Become peer supporters themselves
Through trainings and community participation, mothers can transition from receiving support to becoming community leaders, recognising their lived experience as valuable expertise.
